How to configure my Router

Belkin Router

  1. Make sure your router, modem and your PC are properly connected.
  2. Launch a web browser, enter the router’s IP Address in the Address bar and press ‘enter”. The default IP Address of a Belkin router is 192.168.2.1.
  3. When the home-page is open, Click on “Login”. By default, Belkin wireless routers have no password so when you click on login just click on Submit without entering anything in the password section.
  4. After that, Under internet WAN, choose the Connection type. You should be aware of the connection type you have from your internet service provider, if not please contact your area internet service provider.
  5. In my case, my connection type is dynamic. You can choose your connection type and go further according to that type.
  6. Enter the details provided by your ISP and click the “Apply Changes” button.

You should now be able to connect to the Internet.

  3. In next step you will then be asked for your login details. Leave the user name field blank and type “admin” (f you haven't changed it) in the password field then click ok.
  4. On the Setup tab, click MAC Address Clone. This will allow your ISP to recognize the router as the computer with the registered MAC Address. Select Enabled then click on Clone My PC’s MAC.
  5. Once the MAC Address Clone feature is enabled, Internet status should be active. To check the status click on the “Status tab”. Check the Internet IP Address. If it has numbers, this means the router has been properly configured but the Internet IP Address values are showing up 0.0.0.0, click on “Release IP Address” then the “Renew IP Address buttons”.
