OnePlus has grasped the market in pretty less time, but when it comes to smartphones OnePlus is one of the few brands known for making exceptionally good premium phones. Every year, the company raises the bar quite high with its premium phones and a few months ago, CEO Carl Pei announced that OnePlus is venturing into the smart TV market very soon. The company didn't reveal anything about the product, except for hinting about what consumers could expect from the TV.

Similar to its phones, OnePlus wants to offer a standout product in the smart TV market that does the 'smart' part of the TV very well. It was hinted that the TV will act as a smart home hub while managing the smart TV part of the product efficiently. Given that its remote controller surfaced on one certification authority's website, it could be relying on Google's Android TV platform to look after the software part, said CEO Carl Pei.

What users can expect from OnePlus TV?

With the emergence of OnePlus TV, OnePlus has made it clear that it wants to offer a distinct smart TV experience. OnePlus has hinted through its community blogs that the TV will form a core part of smart home experience, acting as the hub. Therefore, it could be possible that the OnePlus TV could act as an extension of the smartphone with the ability to make video calls via Wi-Fi, keep a tab on the latest news and get easy access to all online content. It is expected that OnePlus will use Android TV OS as the base for its software platform, which means we could expect Google Assistant integration.

Will it be called the OnePlus TV?

It has not been revealed by OnePlus yet that what this amazing smart TV will be called. But OnePlus is itself a name for millions of peoples. In Fact, OnePlus opened up a contest where it allowed its community members to have a go at naming the OnePlus TV. The aptest name could be chosen as the name of the TV.

When will it launch?

This is something which is suspicious that nobody has ideas about. However, if you look at all the leaks and rumours related to the TV, it seems that we could be looking at a November launch for the TV. Recently, a remote controller was spotted at a certification agency revealing that it will use Bluetooth to connect to the TV. Given that OnePlus usually has a slot for a product launch in November, there are chances that the company might unveil the TV along with the OnePlus 7T series phones.
