Metros have proved to be one of the most comfortable and convenient means of transportation. In the present time, metros are running almost all over the world. It provides a lot of ease and comfort to people.

Now, the first trial run of the much awaited Ahmedabad metro train will be conducted in January next year. During the trial, the train will ply between Vastral village and Apparel park on a 6.5 km reach called as “priority reach” in East Ahmedabad.

The above stretch is part of 20.73 km long East-West corridor of an ambitious metro project that connects between  Vastral area in east Ahmedabad with the Western suburb of Thaltej. The METRO RAIL PROJECT is being implemented by metro link express for Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad a wholly owned company of Gujarat government.

During the first phase, it will connect eastern western and northern-southern suburbs in Ahmedabad and later they are planning to extend it to Gandhinagar in the second phase. While the east-west corridor is about 20.73 km long and the north-south corridor connecting Motera with APMC market is about 18.52 km long.

Ahmedabad CM said that he will contact our PM Narendra Modi and request him to inaugurate the 6 km long metro trial. Ahmedabad Metro officials said that it would take 8 months to a year after a trial run to begin the commercial operations. As far as the project is concerned only 50 percent of the work is complete so far especially the viaduct where only 3.5kms has been covered.
