Former Karnataka CM SM Krishna’s son-in-law Siddhartha was found dead in the morning by the river Nethravati in Gwalior. As per the reports, Siddharth’s friends and relatives identified the dead body. The body of Cafe Coffee day founder VG Siddhartha has been found from the Nethravathi river, according to TV reports on Wednesday. Siddhartha's body was found on the banks of the river near the Hoige Bazaar in Mangaluru.

VG Siddhartha the founder of India's Largest coffee chain Cafe Coffee Day who also owns Asia's single-largest coffee estate, was missing since Monday night from a river bridge in Mangaluru.  CCD owner went missing in Mangaluru after the news emerged after the City Police started a search for a person who had jumped off the kilometer-long Ullal bridge on Monday night.

Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada Sasikanth Senthil said, "A body has been found and it appears to be of Cafe Coffee Day owner VG Siddhartha." Police moved the body to a hospital until his friends and relatives identified it. 

Coast Guards along with NDRF and Navy joined the search operationSiddhartha's Body founds in the Netravati River on Monday but could not found anything. The dog squad had hooked a whiff of Siddhartha on the bridge, leading the police to speculate that the businessman had committed suicide.

On Monday afternoon Siddhartha left from Bengaluru to Sakleshpur in Hassan district but asked his driver to turn towards Mangaluru on the way. He was last seen near a bridge on Netravati river in Dakshina Kannada district on Monday night.

In a statement Basavraj Patel his driver said that Siddhartha had told him that he was going for a walk near the bridge and asked him to wait at a distance. The coffee administrator who endowed the country's first coffee chain is also the son-in-law of former Chief Minister SM Krishna.

After the news of his absconded broke out on Monday morning, a letter purportedly written by Siddhartha, addressed to the CCD Board and family surfaced. In his letter, Siddhartha wrote that he was giving up as he had failed as an administrator and was grappling with the business. Siddhartha had also alleged a lot of harassment by the previous DG of the Income Tax Department in this letter.

As per the news, once he was the largest shareholder of Mindtree but suddenly decided to cash out. In March 2019, he sold out his 20.41 percent stake in MindTree to Larsen & Toubro (L&T), getting close to Rs 2,858 crores profit.  This deal helped Siddhartha to repay his debt of about Rs 2,900 crore.
