The former Prime Minister of India, Atal Bihari Vajpayee passed away on Thursday. He was on life support system for 2 days. According to AIIMS notification, he breathed at 5:05 for the last time.

The demise of the 93-years old Bharatiya Janata Party leader has left the country in grief. He was suffering from kidney tract infection, urine tract infection, low urine output and chest congestion due to which he was rushed to hospital on June 11.

People all around the country were praying for his life, while special prayers were performed on his land of birth, Lucknow.

Vajpayee was a diabetic due to which he had only one kidney working. He suffered strokes in 2009 which caused him dementia.

He was born on 25 December 1924 in a Brahmin family. He was the leader of BJP. He was India’s prime minister from May 16-31 in 1996; from 1998 to 1999, and a full five-year term from October 13, 1999, to May 13, 2004. He retired in 2005 and was awarded Bharat Ratna in 2015 by President Pranab Mukherjee.

Current Prime Minister, Narendra Modi visited AIIMS twice within 24 hours to see Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Sever political leaders, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, BJP chief Amit Shah, LK Advani, Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh visited, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal also visited AIIMS after the hearing the news that his health is not well.
