Lake Natron

Located in northern Tanzania, Lake Natron is one of the most serene lakes around the globe. But some pictures taken by a photographer appear like the animals here are turned to stone. This lake is inhospitable to the animals who have not adapted to its environment as the temperature reaches up to 60 degrees Celsius. According to science, the animals die after coming in contact with the lake and then calcify appearing like a stone.

The Gates of Hell – Darvaza, Turkmenistan 

An underground cavern whose diameter is 69 m and its depth is 30 m is continuously burning since the year 1971. The soviet accidentally drilled in too deep when looking for methane gas but found out it to be a natural gas carven. They came up with the idea of burning off the gas but it’s been 5 decades and we are still waiting for the fire to set off.

Lake Hillier – Western Australia

Australia’s famous pink lake Hiller is indeed a beauty of its kind. This bubble gum/ milkshake coloured lake was Discovered in 1802. Scientists are still not sure what gives the water it’s pink colour but they think it to be some kind of organism known as Dunaliella Salina. but without the proof, it’s almost as true as the lake has a magical place hidden somewhere underneath. The lake has a very high slat level but is said to perfectly safe to swim.

The Nazca Lines – Nazca Desert, Peru

These lines have messed with scientist’s head for ages now. These lines form geometrical patterns, human and animal figures but no one till date knows who did this or why they did this. These are huge figures that are visible by air as if travelling through an aeroplane or a good height. How weird is that now? This actually looks like some alien kid drew some funny figures on earth but we can’t say for sure. The possibilities are endless and since scientists can’s figure it we can assume whatever we want to.

Green Lake in Tragoess – Styria, Austria

Also given the nickname “The Caribbean of the Alps.” It is a magical emerald lake that disappears in winter on its own. The snow from Hoch Schwab mountains of Styria melts around spring in June flooding trees, benches, and even the little bridge. No swimming and diving are allowed in the green lake. The lake is extremely beautiful to be admired by the surface will continue to be so.

Spotted Lake – British Columbia

The spots in this lake are the result of highly concentrated minerals like calcium, sodium sulfates and magnesium sulfate in the water. This is a private lake owned by the people of okngana nation. It was believed that different circles had different healing powers. The lake displays a different variety of colours and artistic beauty.

Whale Bone Alley – Siberia, Russia

This site is marked as an ancient butcher yard. The place has a hundred bones, ribcages,  vertebrate of whales. Whalebone alley is said to have been created about 600 years ago by native tribes. The place is believed to be established for mutual worship and rituals. Apart from the bone’s pits have also been found which are said to have been used for storing meat. This place is a haunting reminder of whatever happened here that killed such a massive number of whales.

Crooked Forest is located outside Nowe Czarnowo West Pomerania, Poland this forest is a groove for 400 curved pine trees. Most of them are bent northward. Numerous theories have been proposed for the strange forests but no one knows what causes them to be in this form.
