Every year in India 26th July is honoured as Kargil Vijay Diwas to bestow tribute to Kargil war’s Heroes. The Kargil conflict happened when Pakistani soldiers infiltrated into positions on the Indian side of the LOC. The war, fought between the months of May and July ended on the 26th of July when India regained control of all the previously held territory.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has announced to Release URI: The Surgical Attack again on 26th July on the occasion of Kargil Diwas. The movie will be screened in 500 theatres across Maharashtra and the audience will get to watch it free, Said Maharashtra Chief Minister.

URI was released on 11 January 2019, and make a hike of ₹342.06 crore (estimated). Uri starring Vicky Kaushal as the main lead source, Yami Gautam, Paresh Rawal and Mohit Raina. URI: The Surgical Strike was 2019's first sleeper hit performed exceptionally well at the box office and producer Ronnie Screwvala and director Aditya Dhar are quite excited about this.

First-time director Aditya Dhar speaking to Mumbai Mirror said, "It's a wonderful initiative by our Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and I'm glad people will get to see the film for free this time." In this Context, Ronnie Screwvala added, "The idea of making the film was to instil a sense of pride in the hearts of every Indian and to highlight the incredible service of the armed forces for our country. The film was clashed with Anupam Kher's ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ and rose victorious at the box office.
