On Sunday, 8 people lost their lives during the violence that erupted in the Lakhimpur district of Uttar Pradesh during the Farmer's Protest. As per sources, the farmers were gathered to protest against the Banbirpur visit of Uttar Pradesh's Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya. The incident took place in the Tikunia Village which shares borders to Banbirpur and is connected by a Road, it is reported that the farmers were assembled on the same connected road for their protest. The Banbinpur village is the native village and home to Union Minister of State Ajay Mishra Teni, He is also an MP from Lakhimpur District of Uttar Pradesh.

 On September 25th, Union Minister Ajay Mishra Teni visited his Lok Sabha Constituency Lakhimpur Kheri where he addressed people and warned the protesters opposing the center’s three farm laws to mend their ways which had subsequently provoked the farmers. The protesting farmers showed black flags to the MP as a protest signal.

After 4 days, On September 29th, a meeting was held by the protesting farmers to set up a campaign and protest against the visit of the UP's Deputy Chief Minister and Union Minister.

As planned, On Sunday, the farmers assembled in Tikunia Village and surrounded the helipad. The Deputy CM of Uttar Pradesh Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya and MP Ajay Misra Sarin were supposed to visit Banbirpur village on October 2nd to inaugurate a few government schemes. The Deputy CM was supposed to reach the venue by Helicopter but after getting informed about the farmer's protest, he has to change his plans and decided to travel by road.

When the farmers got the news about Deputy CM's changed plans, they halted the Tikunia-Banbirpur road where the outrageous incident took place which costed the lives of 8 people.

As per the investigation, 4 out of 8 victims are the protesting farmers identified as  Nakshatra Singh (55), Daljeet Singh (35), Lavepreet Singh (20), and Gurvendra Singh (18).  The Vehicle overrode the protesting farmers on the Tikubia-Banbirpur Border leaving 4 of the protesting farmers dead. The other 4 reported deaths were the BJP Party workers who were traveling in the same car and were allegedly dragged out of the car by the protestors during the act of violence.

According to the claims done by protesting farmers, Union Minister Ajay Mishra Teni's son was in one of the cars that mowed their fellow protestors down leaving them dead. On the other side, Both Ajay Mishra and his son claim that He has no part in the incident that took place on Sunday and said that they have proof to prove his innocence and non-involvement in this act of violence.

Ajay Mishra has given a statement to multiple news agencies stating that some of the protestors beat three of their party workers and the driver to death after the car they were traveling in was overturned meanwhile the protestors were pelting stones at the cars. Two people died as the pelted stones left the car overturned and two people came under it and died.
